AUTO FIBRE CRAFT (AFC) is an ISO/TS 16949:2002 and ISO 9001:2000 certified company based in Jamshedpur, INDIA manufacturing FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) (or Fibre Glass) products and Rotomolded plastic products for the automobile industry. It has been in this business since last 25 years.
With the right mixture of professionalism, dynamism and experience, a seasoned team of professionals leads AFC. With successful client relationships under its belt, the AFC team is forging ahead manufacturing different FRP and plastic components for the automobile industry. Being a debt free company leverages its position with respect to its competitors by being more cost-effective to the customer.
AFC has recently started manufacturing various Speciality chemicals and Nano Materials like Nano Silver, Nano Gold, Nano Palladium and Nano Ferrite. Already many customers all over the world have been benefited from the nano materials produced by AFC which are the most price competitive in the world and unmatched in quality and service. AFC is also planning to venture into the field of alternate energy viz. Solar energy, Fuel Cells and Wind Energy.
THE TEAM
AFC is led by a team of three technocrats. Ably supported by a team of 20 people, the company has a flat organizational structure where innovation is welcomed. This results in product development in shortest possible time frames with customer satisfaction and eventually customer delight.
A profile of the leaders of AFC is presented below:
Mr. Vijay Kumar , 63, a mechanical engineering graduate from N.I.T. Jamshedpur (erstwhile RIT), Mr. Vijay Kumar has over 25 years of experience in FRP and metallurgy. As the proprietor of the company, he manages the HR, technical and finance activities. He has received technical know-how of FRP from IIT Chennai and IIT Kharagpur. Prior to starting AFC 24 years back, he was a graduate trainee in TATA Steel where he received a diploma in metallurgy and worked for 3 years.
Mr. Anand Kumar , 29, holds a Masters degree in Industrial Chemistry from the prestigious IIT Kharagpur. As a technical and marketing lead in AFC, he takes care of technical issues and is in charge of dealing with customers. He has received training in the FRP domain from the IIT. He is behind the new Nanotech initiative in the organization and has been successful in developing various nano materials economically. Apart from this, he has 3 years of IT experience behind him – working for companies like SAP and Infosys Technologies Ltd. He also has a SAP certification in SAP Netweaver technologies and he was involved in creation of IIT Kharagpur website (during 1999-2003) as webmaster.
Mr. Pratik Kumar , 23, a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Mesra, Ranchi. He participated in the Formula Student competition which was held in Silverstone, London, UK in July 2007. He was the chief designer of the racing car which was made by eight BIT Mesra students all by themselves from scratch. The body of the car was made in FRP and AFC manufactured the same in a record time of 7 days which included on spot designing of the FRP body by Pratik and pattern, mould making, manufacturing and finishing by us.
